Samurai Sword (Part 3-5) HD

The blades of old samurai swords are sometimes carved with a single terrifying figure: the number of human bodies they have sliced in two with a single stroke. Indeed, each katana, or samurai sword, has its own unique story of not only a lethal past, but also an exquisite creation. Trace one blade's beginnings to rural Japan, where a smelter prays to a Shinto shrine as a nearby mixture of charcoal and the purest iron sand is heated to over 1000 degrees Celsius - until he shatters the furnace walls, releasing a blistering mass of steel. From fiery forging workshops to ferocious fighting schools, discover the mysterious process behind the creation of the sword that many experts call the most effective in the world. Generations of metalsmiths and warriors have worked for centuries to perfect this process of art and chemistry, trial and honor, discipline and devotion-all embodied in the razor-sharp blade of the katana sword.

City of ruins - FULL HD (destroyed warsaw in 1945 )

By January 1945 85% of the buildings were destroyed: 25% as a result of the Uprising, 35% as a result of systematic German actions after the uprising, and the rest as a result of the earlier Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and the September 1939 campaign.[5] Material losses are estimated at 10455 buildings, 923 historical buildings (94%), 25 churches, 14 libraries including the National Library, 81 primary schools, 64 high schools, University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology, and most of the historical monuments.[5] Almost a million inhabitants lost all of their possessions.[5] The exact amount of losses of private and public property as well as pieces of art, monuments of science and culture is unknown but considered enormous. Studies done in the late 1940s estimated total damage at about $30 billion US dollars.[139] In 2004, President of Warsaw Lech KaczyƄski, later President of Poland, established a historical commission to estimate material losses that were inflicted upon the city by German authorities. The commission estimated the losses as at least US$31.5 billion at 2004 values.[140] Those estimates were later raised to US$45 billion 2004 US dollars and in 2005, to $54.6 billion

Fabric Painting - The Art of Marketing Through Painting

Since the early days of mankind, there have been traces of men drawing portraits and paintings on the wall or paper to record the events that had taken place. It was their necessity to provide their future generations all illustrative details of the events, but gradually painting became just an art. With the help of painting people tried to relieve themselves of their thoughts on the canvas or paper, and much later, they used this art to design or glorify their surrounding through fabric painting.

History of fabric painting!

Fabric painting has been traced back to the time around 3000 B.C., as printing blocks of that era were found in Asia. Fabric painting is a rich art that involves designing cloth materials or even solid substances, like that of vase or pillars, to make them look more ornate. In the earlier times before the entire world was caught up in the net of fabric painting the craftsmen from Japan and China developed the form of stencil and resist technique of fabric painting. In these forms, the person requires to apply pressure on the material to which the pigments are already attached, from behind, so that the pigment gets affixed to the texture.

Fabric painting styles!

There are various forms of fabric painting styles that have come up today, but the ones that are most popular, are the tie-dye and batik methods. They can be discussed individually with references to their traits:

* Batik: The pattern of fabric painting seems to have originated from Java, as the name suggests "writing of wax" in the Javanese language. The general idea is to apply wax and dye together upon the material forming gorgeous designs that would attract anybody. This form of fabric painting, has been revived and led to higher limits at the academic based art schools, and has inspired many minds to consider fabric painting.

* Tie-dye: Another form of fabric painting that involves simple technique of tying a small portion of the material and putting it inside the dye. The portion that does not come in contact with the dye, remains uncolored, and thus, leads to the formation of a color design; it is also known as the resist method. On several occasions different colored dyes are used to form designs on different parts of the cloth, making a dull material look gorgeous.

Starting with these methods, people have now opened boutiques of their own, where they display their designer collection of clothes that have fabric painting on them done exclusively by hand. The basic advantage of fabric painting is that the color used, is not watering and, can be washed and worn from time to time.

Apart from clothing, fabric painting is also applied upon vases and various other show-pieces that may seem dull. With the help of fabric painting, we can give a new look to the different items that have been with us for a long time but are not trendy any more. Thus, fabric painting as we can see has captured its own niche in our lives and is evolving gradually.
